for the first time the host ask to D, if D can answer what hat is he wearing, it means that he saw B and C hats is the same colour, (B is yellow and C is yellow OR B is red and C is red..) Therefore, D will answer his hat is Red if B and C hats is yellow and yellow respectively OR D will answer his hat is Yellow if B and C hats is red and red respectively.. (so this question will not be given.. hahaha..)

Actually, C is waiting for D’s answer, if D say he didn’t know what colour of hat is D is wearing, it’s a clue for C to think that D is seeing red and yellow hat (which is B’s and C’s hat).. And C is seeing B’s hat which is red, so.. confim he knows he is yearing yellow!!!!! So, for the second time when the question is given to C, he will simply say that his hat is yellow in colour..

=) =) nice mind boggling..

the answer is C coz C know from the answer D which is C can guest what colour he’s wear,

logically, C have the best chance to know what colour of hat he is wearing. Maybe he will pick yellow as of his hat colour. This is because, if i am C, i will only see B’s hat which is red, and the other 3 hats (A’s hat, D’s hat and C’s hat which is mine) would be Red, Yellow and Yellow.. so, the probability for C’s hat is to be Yellow is 2 out of 3.. = 0.66/1

A and D have a 50/50 chance to know their hat whether it is red or yellow. A didnt know anything at all, so the chance is 2 out of 4 = 0.5/1

Same as D, he have the 50/50 chance because he only see B’s hat and C’s hat, but the other 2 hat’s which is his and A’s (maybe red or yellow), he didn’t know.. So, the probability is 1 out of 2 = 0.5/1

If D answer is no, then both of B and C is not wearing the same colour. If both of them are wearing the same colour, then D will know his hat colour because there can only be 2 hat with the same colour and both B and C have different colour. C know that B has red hat and from D answer he knew that they have different hat, so his hat must be yellow.
